On Wednesday, 20th of April, 2016, two teachers from the Carmelitas School in Elda, were talking about how they introduce new techologies during the lessons. They think that teachers are teaching contents from the 19th century, that teachers belong to the 20th century, but it's important to keep in mind that students belong to the 21st century. For that reason teachers have to change their teaching-learning process. It is important to develop their critical sense, their creativity, their communication and collaboration.

They also said that it's important to motivate the students to they can feel happy doing what they do; a good way to reach that could be a new educational project, and also keeping in mind that the school doesn't work alone, but is important the participation of families, they have to be involved in their children' learning. Those teachers think that people have to change and evolve according to the society, inspite of being in a comfort area.

They have a Design School inside the centre called "Edice", because it implies useful innovations to people improvement, to make easier the development of digital competence and to acquire key competences such as working in groups or multiple competences.

This school uses new technologies such as:

-Fablab: There is a kind of laboratory inside the school in which students can make stickers, they can design tools for example in the subject of history to see the different tools that the first humans used. All these activities and constructions have to be adapted to the curriculum.

-Robotics: To improve the development of competences and skills. From 6 to 8 years, students start to make lego pieces and from 9 to 11 years they start to make programmable robots.

-Augmented Reality/ 3D printing: Some teachers have done an augmented reality book with virtual mockups. They also have five 3D printers which make possible that students could see and touch what they are created in the computer. It improves the creativity of students.

Finally they were talking about the future teachers in the smart school, and they said that teachers need to transform the curriculum, to be able to make a change, to have enthusiasm and that it's very important to understand that teachers are coaches or guides, not knowledge transmitters.

In my opinion, it was so interesting to see how a 3D printer prints in that moment, is amazing.
